5k satoshi or not worth the time

Ignoring things like the stability bot, the original verifund, and the coinomat debitcard.
This was shilled as spendable anywhere bitcoin is accepted.
ppl put money and coin into this shit on that understanding
"besides bitcoin, vericoin is the most spendable currency"
Turns out veribit was on par with bitconnect withdraws.
"buy the ghost town and sell the metropolis"
idk if you have looked at the vrc block explorer... nothing but 2s under txs
So here are some benchmarks I will be looking for...
I want to see the coin trading at 5000 satoshi. I don't care how it gets there. The value is WAY too low right now for a coin of this substance. I want to see people joining the Sub Reddit ( and posting there. I want to see people talking about VeriCoin in the Poloniex Chat box. I want to see people talking about VeriCoin on twitter. I want to see people writing articles about VeriCoin on blogs and news sites.

Today we’re releasing our latest desktop browser Brave 0.23 which features Private Tabs with Tor, a technology for defending against network surveillance. Private Tabs with Tor help protect Brave users from ISPs (Internet Service Providers), guest Wi-Fi providers, and visited sites that may be watching their Internet connection or even tracking and collecting IP addresses, a device’s Internet identifier.
BATProject subreddit has now reached 18.2k subscribers!

Brave releases desktop client version v0.23.19
In this latest update, we’ve added Tor support for Private Browsing (#1185), added keyboard shortcut for toggling Bookmarks Toolbar (#12594), fixed several crashes on launch for some users who have Brave Payments enabled (#14370) and much more!

Team Tweets:

Why does Brave require KYC (Know Your Customer)? How does it protect users? When will it be used?
BrendanEich @BrendanEich Fake cc/dcid is <$1 on dark web, so without KYC, fraudsters can buy $20 in crypto using a stolen id they never use again, net $19, and repeat all day long. Sad but true. Anything that goes to fiat has stronger legal requirements. Jun 24, 2018
BrendanEich‏ @BrendanEich Replying to @sh1mmer @BraveSampson and 2 others 1/ If you presented cash in person, it would be easier :-/. Today's web does indeed require ads not goodwill user payments ($80B in 2017 in US on digital alone). If you don't want BAT ads (we're in early user trials rn), can bring legit cc/debitcard, then KYC will be necessary. Jun 24, 2018
BrendanEich‏ @BrendanEich Replying to @BrendanEich @sh1mmer and 3 others 2/ We are evaluating one-ID-scan-for-all-uses, decentralized KYC providers such as @civickey and will work to lower friction via such as soon as we can. More on that as soon as we have news. For now @upholdinc is best bet. Thanks for your patience! Jun 24
Brian R. Bondy @brianbondy So many people to thank for @brave private tabs using the Tor network. But I wanted to give a special shout out to @anthonnytseng and @Riastradh_. Amazing work guys.
Jun 28, 2018
Brian R. Bondy @brianbondy Private tabs using Tor in @brave also not possible without @bcrypt, @petemill, rossmoody, @flamsmark, @w0ts0n, the QA team and I'm forgetting some others I'm sure. Jun 28, 2018
Version 1.0 testing builds coming in a few weeks?
Brian R. Bondy @brianbondy Thanks for reaching out, we'll put out some github only builds soon with nightly branding of the new rewrite. Pls ping back in a couple weeks and I'll get you a link for that. Jun 27, 2018
Congratulations Brave teams on setting up Private Tabs with Tor!
BrendanEich @BrendanEich Great @brave teamwork delivered Private Tabs with Tor for beta-testing in latest release today. Please help test and let us know how to improve. Thanks.

Johnny, Chief Policy & Industry Relations Officer at Brave, on ads and consent for GDPR:
Johnny Ryan @johnnyryan Read the Article 29 Working Party opinion on legitimate interest more carefully - it explicitly says on (p. 18 and p. 47) that online behavioural advertising would require consent to be lawful. The @IAB should be clear about this. #GDPR #EUdatap

BAT/Brave in the News:

Brave Browser Adds Support for Private Browsing With Tor Integration
Brave launched a new version today that features a private browsing mode that automatically starts inside a Tor session. The Brave team says the new "Private Tabs with Tor" feature will be helpful for users who are looking for additional protection that goes beyond the local PC.
Private browsing sessions were invented to wipe data from the browser after a browsing session is closed. But this type of browsing is not opaque to ISPs and the websites a user accesses, which can log traffic originating from the user. Brave's Tor-integrated private browsing sessions anonymize the user's IP address by passing the browser traffic through the Tor network.
Can Blockchain Fix the Ad Industry?
The companies running ads on their services know users hate them. Just watch a few videos on YouTube, and you'll eventually get a message box that encourages you to subscribe to the network's paid service to get rid of ads.
But this doesn't mean digital ads are completely dead. A handful of organizations, startups, and large tech companies believe they can fix the problems with blockchain, the distributed ledger technology that underlies digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Brave now serving ads to as many as 1,000 volunteers who agreed to help test out the company's plans
The builders of the Brave browser have begun serving replacement advertisements to volunteers, a key part of a business model that relies on stripping others' ads from web pages.
Expanded trials will take place over the coming months, Brave asserted, boosting the number of users and advertisements. At an undetermined point, Brave will add the Basic Attention Tokens (BATs) that form the foundation of the firm's unusual business model.
Brave now protects your browsing activity with Tor-powered tabs
Want more online privacy? Brave, the ad-blocking browser, has a new way to get it on the web.
A new version of the browser released Thursday adds technology called onion routing from the Tor Project as an option to its private tabs. Tor helps keep you anonymous by shuttling your internet communications a network of computers that obscures your true address on the internet, making it much harder for a website to know you visited.

News You Should Know:

Marketing Firm Exactis Leaked a Personal Info Database with 340 Million Records
Earlier this month, security researcher Vinny Troia discovered that Exactis, a data broker based in Palm Coast, Florida, had exposed a database that contained close to 340 million individual records on a publicly accessible server. While the precise number of individuals included in the data isn't clear—and the leak doesn't seem to contain credit card information or Social Security numbers—it does go into minute detail for each individual listed, including phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, and other highly personal characteristics for every name. The categories range from interests and habits to the number, age, and gender of the person's children.
Facebook and Google use 'dark patterns' around privacy settings, report says
Facebook, Google and Microsoft push users away from privacy-friendly options on their services in an "unethical" way, according to a report by the Norwegian Consumer Council.
It studied the privacy settings of the firms and found a series of "dark patterns", including intrusive default settings and misleading wording. The firms gave users "an illusion of control", its report suggested. The report - Deceived by Design - was based on user tests which took place in April and May, when all three firms were making changes to their privacy policies to be in compliance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In a sign of things to come, California governor signs GDPR-style privacy law
The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, which goes into effect from 2020, mirrors many of the provisions of GDPR in that it puts strict regulations in place as to how online companies deal with customer data.
At its crux, the legislation gives California residents the right to know what data a company has collected on them as well as the ability to control what a company does with that data. Upon request, companies operating within the state must now disclose what information it collects, why it collects the data and to whom it sells the data. Consumers will have the legal right to compel companies to delete any data a business has gathered about them or opt out of their data being shared or sold.

Bitcoin could promote world peace! And here is why

I admit, it's a very optimistic view on bitcoin, but following my "logic chain" in bitcoin (or crypto currency) adoption, I came to the conclusion that bitcoin will bring world peace. Here is my logic chain:
To come to a conclusion, I believe bitcoin will discourage government to start a war, because they cannot afford it. As soon as the government realise this, we will have peace on earth.
So what do you think about it? Is this a possible (optimistic) scenario?

How Do I Spend Bitcoins ? How Do I Sell or Buy Bitcoins ?

Bitcoin wallets provide with bitcoin addresses , which represent a destination . That is similar to an email address, bitcoin addresses are alphanumeric between 27-34 in length.
All bitcoin service providers have user friendly interface which allows customers to sell and buy bitcoins through generation of bitcoin addresses for an individual. To sell bitcoins -
Customers simply have to ensure positive balance in their bitcoin wallets, Insert the buyer’s bitcoin address, and hit send.
Bitcoin transactions actually take less than an hour to arrive. There is a small miner fees to process the transaction. The miner fees are given as an incentive to Bitcoin miners for maintaining equipment. But it can take shorter or longer depending on the fee and the particular bitcoin service provider.
Now people can spend bitcoins anywhere – Even bitcoins accept as payment. People can also use a Mastercard/Visa-linked bitcoin debitcard issued by companies.
Hope, You're getting nice idea about how to spend the bitcoins.

how i explained bitcoin yesterday " its like your debit card without the plastic card or magnetic strip doing its transactions over the internet in a way not controlled by any central bank". They finally understood.
I stopped talking about hashes and passwords. I just said it transmits your purchases and deposits to your bitcoin account/wallet using encoded security info transfers across the internet just like your debit card does going over the wires after your swipe it. I said they could buy stuff from many merchants just like with their debit card or paypal except the fees are zero.
People don't usually understand the details of how their debit card does that but they know it does it.
When explained that way they immediately thought bitcoin was a good idea!
They didn't need to hear explainations of the theory of money etc because they already sort of know their debit card balance is simply some dots in a computer so the transition to bitcoin in their mind was less intimidating.
If they asked where the account was I told them the accounting dots were held on their own computer and they could print out proof on a piece of paper so if their computer crashed they would have backup. They really liked that.
Sometimes they asked what stopped anyone from just making "fake bitcoin debitcard like accounts" and I said becuase of the math involved there can only ever be 21 million "coins" and there are only about 11 million out there now but growing slowly.
I also said every transaction is verified in a big chain of data so people couldn't create new ones out of thin air becuase they would never have appeared int he chain of transactions with other people (I didn't go too much into mining).
If you like this explaination to promote bitcoin education a bitcoin tip is appreciated! 15hnXT2vhjcrzrfW1fC7dLm7UahP3EkFqi

A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an Anonymous Wallet for Covert Practices, what's new ?

I'm referring to this very interesting post
What's new in that matter ? DarkWallet is not yet operational will it be a solution ? Also as for funding the Anonymous Wallet, why not using a prepaid debitcard you can buy with cash in many stores worldwide ?
Also what is the point of not using Tor with a client like Electrum, Electrum use a HTTPS connection so should we really mind about exit node monitoring ? Why aVPN should be safer than an SSL connection and why should we trust more the VPN exit gate ?

Can Beacon be a success?

People/customers/anyone keeps telling me about new tech stuff and currently every noob I know keeps telling me "Paypal Beacon" is a good idea.
I have doubts. Maybe because coins, creditcards and debitcards work well. anywhere. These are thing I can carry around and mostlikely even wash and I won't lose money.
Then there are online payments like paypal or again creditcards. And also those work everywhere.
Besides that all I can think of is bitcoin and western union money transfer and maybe that african cell-phone-payment.
Unlike bitcoin and that weird payment they have in africa everything has been invented before 2000.
Before 2000 there were coca cola machines in australia that allowed mobile payment. nobody liked it.
Bitcoin and that african thing are not really controlled or controllable by nations or banks. Am I mistaken that any payment system after 2000 tries to do it without banks or nations? And all ideas of "mobile payment" that have been developed by companies fail miserably? E.g. "NFC" is already dead. Mastercard dropped the pre paid NFC cards. McDonalds stopped replacing broken NFC devices. And iOS obviously does not even plan to make use of NFC but instead comes up with iBeacon.
To me iBeacon feels like a super orwellian state. Any company will be able to track any available money...or person having money. In their vision none would be able to donate to the homeless or buy groceries at the market. You better order that tomato with amazon prime.
Well that is their vision and I'd like to know if anyone thinks this is a good idea or might even have more success than NFC payment.
